Do I have a Bose Series 1? Which Receiver Do I Need?

Troubleshooting

If you have an old Bose 30pin dock and are unsure whether it is a Bose series 1 dock, then you have come to the right place. The very first series of Bose docks are slightly different to the rest of the Bose and therefore require a separate 30pin receiver.

Please note that this post is for Bose Docking Stations with a 30pin connection only.

Which version of Bose do I have?

The easiest way to tell if you have a Bose series 1 dock is if it has an AUX/AUDIO IN connection in the back of the dock.

  1. If it doesn’t have an AUX input, then you have an original Bose Series 1 docking station, and you need to purchase the BS-1. If your Bose is white and the serial number starts with 0357… please get in contact with us.

The BS1 is an all-in-one receiver, designed specifically for the Bose Series 1 which runs off an older charge output.  It will not work on newer Bose docking stations.

YES. If your dock does have an AUX,  the BS-1 will not work with your dock. They will not power up, and the lights won't flash, because your dock is running off the newer charge output.

You will therefore need to purchase the i-DOCK or the i-SYNC for your Bose Docking Station. Please find all the information for these two docks on our product pages.
