If you have an old stereo, docking station, speaker or Hi-fi that you were reluctant to dispose of but is currently hidden in a corner somewhere collecting dust - this is what you were waiting for! It’s time to bring it out of early retirement and back to the party.
Our practical yet inexpensive adapters do just this. You don’t need to spend £000’s on an expensive airplay or Bluetooth docking station. Instead - you can revive your dock and give it a new lease of life!!
Our Bluetooth Receivers either fit the 30pin connection or the AUX input of your docking station, stereo or Hi-fi and turn it Bluetooth - allowing you to stream your music directly from your smartphone, tablet or laptop to your newly bluetooth-enabled speaker.
We have several Bluetooth receivers that will do the job, but due to compatibility issues it can be tricky trying to pick the right one! So we’ve broken it down for you to make it as easy as possible to choose.
So what are the options to make my home stereo Bluetooth?
What Are The Options?
We only have 2 different types of Bluetooth receiver -:
30 Pin Bluetooth Receivers. These connect to the 30pin cradle in an old iPhone / iPod docking station
Bluetooth AUX Receivers. These connect to the AUX input (headphone jack) on the dock, stereo or Hi Fi.
What’s The Difference?
- Look great in the docking station as they fit neatly in the cradle that would have originally housed the iPod or iPhone.
- Draw power from the dock itself and so don’t need to be taken off and recharged.
- They do however have compatibility issues that vary between different brands and even models of the same brand.
- So you need to check the compatibility lists before purchase to make sure you are buying one that will work for your dock.
- Won’t work with digital stereos - which includes most car stereos. Will only work with analogue stereos / docks.
- CONNECT VIA AUX / HEADPHONE JACK
- Overcome all incompatibility issues and will work with any Stereo, Hi-fi or Docking station with an AUX connection
- They will work with any car stereo with an AUX connection, allowing you to switch between using at home and in the car.
- These receivers have a built in battery and so will need to be re-charged
- They also have a hands-free function making them ideal for use in the car
Which 30 Pin Bluetooth Receiver for my Hifi Dock or Stereo?
We have three main 30 Pin Receivers. These receivers are great for Bose docks and whilst the i-SYNC and i-DOCK work with many many more, compatibility can be mixed even within brands.
So we always recommend that you check compatibility of each receiver (in the product link) to see if it has been tested with your specific dock.
If it has been tested and is incompatible - you need an AUX receiver (scroll down).
If your dock is not listed, you are welcome to try either the i-SYNC or i-DOCK and return it in the unfortunate case that it is incompatible.
LAYEN i-SYNC Bluetooth Receiver
The LAYEN i-SYNC is our original flagship music receiver. It is a robust receiver that has undergone several improvements over the years and boasts amazing credibility, sound quality and compatibility.
This is where the LAYEN Bluetooth range started with lots of loyal customers still using this product today. It will work with many docks on the market but, like all Bluetooth receivers, there are some that it occasionally struggles with.

LAYEN i-DOCK Bluetooth Receiver
The LAYEN i-DOCK 4.1 is our premium music receiver, with fantastic sound quality and a higher version of Bluetooth than the i-SYNC.
The i-DOCK has been upgraded to include aptX audio technology (which delivers a low delay in audio) and a Multi-Pair function allowing two Bluetoth devices to connect at the same time and switch music between them.
The i-DOCK has virtually the same compatibility as the i-SYNC.

LAYEN BS-1 Bluetooth Receiver
The LAYEN BS-1 has been designed specifically to work on the first generation Bose Series 1. Most generic 30pin adapters on the market will not work with a Bose Series 1 as it runs from a different power current to all the later Bose models.
We only recommend this receiver for a classic Series 1 Bose. A key indicator that your Bose is a Series 1 is if it doesn't have an AUX connection (headphone jack). If it does have this, it is a later model and you can use either the i-SYNC or i-DOCK.

Which AUX Bluetooth Receiver for my Hifi Dock or Stereo?
As mentioned the AUX Bluetooth receivers overcome all incompatibility issues and will work with any stereo, Hifi or dock that has an AUX connection.
In fact they are so versatile you can even use them to turn your headphones Bluetooth or your car stereo Bluetooth (and use them as hands free). If you have tried a 30 pin receiver but found your stereo was incompatible - this is what you need. We have three different models - all will work and are all very similar.
LAYEN C-AUX Bluetooth Receiver
This is a Bluetooth receiver and will work as described above. It has multi-pair (connect two phones etc at once and switch between music), aPtx for premium sound quality and hands free calling.

This is a Bluetooth receiver and offers the same as the above product, just a different design style. It has multi-pair (connect two phones etc at once and switch between music), aPtx for premium sound quality and hands free calling.

Bluetooth Transmitter/Receiver: This adapter acts as both a Bluetooth receiver and a Bluetooth transmitter - offering a 2-in-1 solution for your audio set-up.

Transmitter Mode: turn your TV, Home Entertainment System, Computer, Laptop or CD Player Bluetooth and transmit audio wirelessly to your Bluetooth headphones, Stereo, Docking Station, or Speakers.
Includes aPtx technology and multi-pair function in both transmitting and receiving modes.
